Did you grow up reading the classic fairy tales of the princess being saved by the prince or kissing a frog to find their true love? Or how about how in most fairytales either the mom dies or you are stuck with a nasty step mother that locks you up or tries to kill you? Well not in this fairy tale and not this princess.
Jody Smith is a first-time author and longtime believer in fairytales. A former interior designer and store owner, this now present mama, dreamer and explorer is telling stories just outside of Mpls, MN. She loves watching her two charismatic girls use their imagination, grit, smarts and whimsy to navigate this world. It inspired her to write a book for all the princesses who are capable of saving themselves and for all the mindful mothers who revel in raising strong daughters.
You Can find the book here:
She Graduated from Stony Brook University Medical Center witha BS in Health Science, minor in Emergency and Disaster Management and concentration in Women Studies. She holds a Certificate from MIT in Leadership in Times of Disruption and A Certificate in The Science of Parenting from UC SanDiego. She worked as a critical care paramedic for years until a permanent injury on the job caused her to change her life direction with work but not without first teaching her of the importance of Independence, Leadership and Personal Identity which are the foundations of her work.
She is a mom to two little girls and has spent nearly a decade working with women of all ages to help shed unhealthy beliefs and breakdown stereotypes surrounding pregnancy, motherhood, body image, self esteem, parenting, women in leadership and much more.
She Believes each of her daughters was sent to her to remind her of a piece of herselfshe haslost or not loved during her journey. She lives with her husband and girls on a little river in Southbury CT.She and her girls can be found listening and singingto “Fight Song” in the car on the way to school
She believes that the change we need to see in this world begins with Raising a Powerful Girl and her lifes work is to help you understand what this means and how you navigate this journey so that we can Raise a Generation of Strong, Independent Women Leaders with high personal integrity and morals that will push for the changes we so desperately need.
